After Graduating from Glasgow University with a First Class Honours Degree, Tim delivered business communication skills training in the UK, and also worked for 8 months in Germany.
Tim moved to Turkey in 1991, recruited as Training Coordinator for a major bank. He then worked as a freelance consultant, designing and managing training programmes, advising on HR issues including executive development, and managing a team of trainers.
Tim worked with Nicholson International from 1995-2007. He was Country Manager of the Turkish office, and built the market leading team of consultants and researchers. In 1997 he was appointed as Area Manager for Turkey and Israel. Nicholson International was the first international Human Resources consultancy in Israel and grew significantly in the country.
In 1998 Tim was appointed as a Regional Director of the firm, and relocated to Hong Kong. He worked extensively across Asia and led a major successful expansion in the People's Republic of China developing four offices and negotiating a landmark joint venture with the Chinese government. The team was selected by Euromoney as the 'Best Recruitment Firm in China'.
In 2000, Tim was appointed to the Management Board of the firm, and was made responsible for the Group's operations in the USA, managing offices in New York, Princeton, and Silicon Valley.
In 2007 Tim established OneWorld Consulting (www.OneWorldConsulting.com), and leads the OneWorld team which provides retained executive search, coaching, mentoring, outplacement and other tailored HR consulting services in Turkey and other markets. He chairs the British Business Group in Istanbul, and is on the Senior Advisory Board of the British Chamber of Commerce.
Tim began working as an executive coach in 1997, specialising in coaching senior executives and leadership teams, with the aim of raising their levels of awareness, and providing challenge and support as they reflect, achieving real behavioural change and improving results. His experience as a corporate trainer, executive search and HR consultant, and a business manager makes him well positioned to be a highly effective coach.
Tim has coached and managed executive search assignments in 20 countries. His clients include Adidas, Allianz, Anadolu Group, Aviva, Avon, Bayer, Borusan, Bosch, Brisa, Coca-Cola, Dogan Group, Anadolu Efes, Enerjisa, Google, Henkel, HSBC, Microsoft, Pearson, Philips, Sabanci Group, Siemens, Tesco, Unilever, Vodafone and Yildiz Holding. He currently works actively in four countries.
Tim was trained by Dr Suzanne Skiffington of the Behavioural Coaching Institute. He has qualified as a Master Coach with the Professional Development Foundation in the UK (an EMCC accredited programme at Master level) and is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Executive Coaching with Middlesex University.
Tim is co-founder of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) in Turkey and served on the International Executive Board. He is also a Member of the Association for Coaching.
Tim continues to work as an executive search consultant, leadership consultant and coach, and works in English and Turkish. He also designs and supervises corporate mentoring programmes. He has facilitated effective leadership offsite meetings in a number of countries for a range of clients. Tim also runs intercultural workshops and briefings and is a member of SIETAR – the Society for Intercultural Education Training and Research. He is qualified to deliver the Bar-On EQ-i assessment tool.
